SUCCESSFUL DANCE
POROPORO BASKETBALL CLUB A large crowd attended the dance sponsored by the Poroporo Basketball Club which took place in the Caledonian Hall on Saturday evening. From start to finish, the evening went with a swing, and 'midnight came all too soon for the majority of dancers. A five-piece Premier Orchestra supplied excellent music for the occasion, whilst Mr N. Fraser who acted as Master of Ceremonies, kept the floor well filled. Novelty dances were popular events and were all well contested. A delicious supper was served by the committee, and was thoroughly enjoyed by p’atrons, many of whom later expressed their appreciation to the committee. Towards the conclusion, Mrs S. C. Joe, President of the Club, briefly thanked those present for their support, and also, the helpers who had made the function possible. Midnight, and the National Anthem, marked the close of the evening.
