FUNDS NEEDED

OHOPE SWIMMING POOL

The annual appeal for funds to effect further improvements to the Ohope Learn-to-Swim pool, sponsored by Mr F. Mahy Sen., will shortly take place and will extend over the Christmas and New Year holidays. In the past, the public response for donations has been generous, and it is hoped that this year the same support will be shown. In the most urgent need of repair, is the dam which supplies water to the pool. During a recent fresh in the stream, this was destroyed, and must be replaced before a constant supply of Water can be maintained. It is intended to put seats right round the pool this year, whilst money is also needed to employ an attendant during the sea-, son. The debt on the pool itself stands at £169 9s 3d.

For this, and other work, donations are urgently, needed. In conclusion, it might be pointed out that kiddies from all over New Zealand spend their holiday at Ohope, and the Learn-to-Swim pool, is probably one of the most useful assets at the beach.
