PLUNKET SOCIETY

MONTHLY MEETING The monthly meeting of the.Whakatane Branch of the Plunket, Society took place in the Rooms last week. Present were Mesdames Cairns (chair), Morpeth, Gaisley, Debreceny, Patterson, O’Rourke, Spring and Roach. Apologies were received from Mesdames Daintori, Knights and Jessop. i The result of the Society’s Annual Appeal, it was intimated, was. most gratifying. New members were needed, and an effort would be made during the house-to-house collection next year to enlist the support of as many as possible. With regard to the work of the Nurse, it was reported that too much of her time was taken up with home to home calls at Ohope, and it was hoped, in the near future, to secure -a room where mothers could attend with their babies.

It was decided to hold the annual garden party at the-residence of Mrs Knights, on March 13, 1947. The next meeting would be held in February.
