R.S.A. EXECUTIVE

MONTHLY MEETING The monthly meeting of the local R.S.A. Executive took place recently. Present were Messrs. L. H. Brown (President), D. S. Wilson, I. Tunui, T. Macken, G. Otley, L. M. Roach, J. H. Armstrong, Doug Wilson, J. Bryant, J. Stewart, N. Patterson, A. Hall, R. Bluett, B. Cutler. It was brought to the notice of the Executive that certain persons were openly refusing to stand during the playing of the National Anthem at the commencement of the programme at the Theatre. Strong exception to this action was expressed by members and it was decided to write a letter of protest to the Manager of the Theatre.

As there was a very poor response to advertisements asking for names for inclusion in the Roll of Honour it was decided to set up a sub-committee to go into ways and means of obtaining names of men from the district who lost their lives in the Second World War and to compile this Roll. Messrs. D. S. Wilson, L. M. Roach, Doug. Wilson and C. Head were appointed to this committee.
