TENNIS VICTORY

NEW MAORI CLUB

The new Maori tennis club formed at Thornton, Okorero, recently played a team from the Rotokawa Club, Rotorua, defeating the visitors 13-7. The result is considered to be a singular achievement, in view of the fact that the club was formed just 4 one month ago. It is hoped that this will be a spearhead for further native enterprise along the same lines, and that other Maori communities in this area will follow suit.
