ANGLICAN BAZAAR
A SUCCESSFUL DAY
Despite the very inclement weather, the St. George’s Anglican Bazaar, which was held in the Parish Hall last Thursday, was a pronounced success, the sum of £155 5s being raised. Many and varied were the stalls which displayed any number of articles of household and ornamental use. The flower stall gloried in a riot of colour, whilst the produce stall fairly groaned beneath the weight of good things. The apron stall was one of the most successful of the day, £44 being realised from this one alone. Ice cream and soft drinks, retailed to kiddies and adults alike were likewise popular. On the fancy work stall many dainty articles were displayed, whilst cakes and sweets formed the ‘stock’ of another which was also well patronised. On the stage, lunch and afternon tea were served. The group of ladies in charge handled the service very commendably, and the tables were rarely empty. By mid-afternoon, the stalls were almost all cleared, and a very successful day was brought to a close.
