SOUTH BAY OF PLENTY BREEDERS TOP PRICE 101 GNS. There was a large attendance at the Annual Sale of Stud Jersey Bulls on account of the South Bay of Plenty Jersey Breeders Club, held at the A. and P. Showgrounds, Whakatane, on September 26 and 27. Keen interest was taken in the show each morning prior to the selling. The following are the results of the six classes arranged each morning, which wbre judged by Mr K. A. Bennett, Papamoa, Te Puke, and Mr T. A. Wardlaw, Remuera. First Day Senior 2 year olds: Ist Lot 62, Rangitaiki Butter King; 2nd Lot 14, Meadow Crest Nick; 3rd Lot 16, Brookdells Aims Hope. Junior 2 year olds: Ist Lot 28, Rangitaiki Challenger; 2nd Lot 21, Gaineville Sams Pat; 3rd Lot 39, Raupo Lucy’s Legion. Senior Yearlings: Ist Lot 64, Rangitaiki Dividend; 2nd Lot 54, Elmsford Noble Dandy and Reserve Champion;. 3rd Lot 65, Gloverfields Fox. Junior Yearlings: Ist Lot 84, Gainville Blondie; 2nd Lot 94, Te Wainui Blue Ribbon; 3rd Lot 96, Greenwell Ellvie. Champion 2 year old: Lot 62, Rangitaiki Butter King. Champion Yearling: Lot 64, Rangitaiki Dividend. Second Day Senior 2 year olds: Ist Lot 157, Hilly Glen Dairyman. Junior 2 year olds: Ist Lot 123, Tuhoe Squires Noble; 2nd Lot 125, Poplarbrae Proud Lad. Senior Yearling: Ist Lot 142, Te. Waiu Black Owl. Junior Yearling: Ist Lot 152, Gaineville Orlando; 2nd Lot 118, Blue Gums Sleepy Fox; 3rd Lot 171, Gowan Midas. Champion 2 year old: Lot 123, Tuhoe Squires Noble. Champion Yearling: Lot 152, Gaineville Orlando. Competition throughout the selling over the two days was steady and for the 160 bulls sold the-satis-factory average price of 31|gns. was attained. Top price of the sale, was lOlgns. received by Mr Neil Reid, Taneatua, for his two year old Lot 52—Rainbow Rover—a son of Ivondale Bronze Heather from Raeburn Freesia H.C. C.O.R. 5701bs fat at 2 years. The next best price was 95gns for Mr G. W. Mexted’s champion two year old Lot 28—Rangitaiki Challenger—secured by Mr C. Goodwin, Te Teko. Competition was also keen for Mr Neil Reid’s second prize 2 year > old, Lot 14—Meado'wcrest Nick—which was finally secured by Mr R. Hiha, Te Puke, at DOgns. The sale was conducted by the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. Ltd., and Wright, Stephenson and Co. Ltd.—--the sales manager for the respective firms being Mr J. King and Mr Ross Robertson, and the auctioneers Mr R. Corcoran and Mr B. Quill.
