American Seeds

Quantities of American vegetable seeds of various kinds will be planted for experimental purposes at Lincoln, College as soon as the ground is in • suitable condition. These seeds were collected in the United States by Mr R. J. Ballinger, of the agronomy division at The college, who has returned to his position after having worked for four years with the National Institute of Agriculture and Botany at Cambridge University. The seeds include those of carrots, onions, cabbages, peas, cauliflowers, and tomatoes. They will be carefully watched to see if they prove more resistant than local types of New Zealand diseases and if the crossing of strains would in any way improve New Zealand types.
