Budding Teamster
We noticed a budding teamster in the Strand the other day. His age, we placed at about 3 years, and he had complete charge of his younger brother who was in a baby harness. By the. manner in which the elder youngster handled the reins, there can be no mistaking his vocation in life.
Young Tradesmen Someone is always working. Inevitably someone is working no matter what the day or weather. On Thursday afternoon, for instance, we noticed two toddlers very ■ industriously cleaning the dust, off a parked car. We doubt whether the owner would have shown much pleasure had he been about, but the youngsters certainly seemed to be enjoying themselves. At the same time, by the strenuous efforts, and the absorbed expressions, the work required the utmost concentration and skill. Reminds us of the youngster who used to clean cars for pocket money. When work was scarce, (so we’re told) his method was to tackle a parked car, and make one side beautifully clean. When the owner returned-'he would offer to complete the .job for a nominal sum.. It never failed!
