TENNIS SEASON
WAIMANA CLUB MEETS The annual meeting of the Waimana Tennis Club was held last Thursday evening, Mr Des Woolfield presiding. The report and balance sheet were presented and adopted, the latter showing a credit balance. The election of officers followed: Patron: Mr E. P. Woolfield. President: Mr D. Woolfield (reelected). Secretary-Treasurer: Miss F. Woolfield (re-elected). Vice-presidents: Mr Kirkbride, Mr N. Eagle and Mr D. Grover. Club Captain: Mrs King, v Committee: Mrs McGillivray, Mrs J. D. Wardlaw, Mrs G. Hewitt, Miss N. Tizard, Mr Cooper, Mr M. King, Mr Williams, Mr N. Eagle. Caretaker: Mr H. Boynton. The subscriptions are to be the same as last year and members supply their own balls, except on match days. It was decided to have a working bee at the courts in the near future, and the opening day was fixed for October 12, neighbouring clubs to be invited. The meeting closed with a vote of thanks to the chair. -
