LEAGUE OF MOTHERS

CHILDREN’S AFTERNOON Mrs Metcalfe presided over a good attendance of members and their children at the last meeting of the League of-Mothers, and opened proceedings in the usual manner by reading the Rules and Objects of the League. All present joined in the League Hymn. It being an afternoon for children a delightful collection of items was much enjoyed. Mr Attwood briefly addressed the children advising them to try and see the beauty of life and the good in other people so that their lives might be influenced for good. The children taking part were as follows:—lan Bfeward (two violin solos); Beth Bigelow (two songs); Margaret and Janet Pithie (Highland Dance and two songs); Colin McGowan (pianoforte solos); Allan Breward (recitation); David Metcalfe (song); George Johnson (recitation); Vivian Murphy (two (pianoforte solos). A very nice afternoon tea and, soft drinks were handed round, after which the singing of the National Anthem brought a happy meeting to a close.
