TE TEKO CLUB DRAW FOR LADIES’ PLAY This week the 2nd qualifying round of the senior and junior club championships will be played in conjunction with the August Medal. Following is the draw: — Thursday: Mrs Thomas and Mrs Mcßride; Mrs Goodwin and Mrs L. B. Smith; Mrs Balfour and Miss Linsell; Mrs Moulden and Mrs Caldwell; Mrs Hutton and Miss Knight; Mrs Burr and Mrs Linsell;' Mrs Canned and Miss Murray; Mrs Craddock and Miss Broks.
Sunday: Miss Walker and Mrs Burr; Mrs Anderson and Miss Knight.
The Medal I’ound for the President’s and Captain’s points prizes played last week resulted: ‘B’ grade, Mrs Thomas- 3 points; Mrs Moulden 2 points;^.Mrs Balfour 1 point. ‘C’ grade, Miss Murray 3 points; Mrs Mcßride 2 points; Mrs Burr 1 point.
WHAKATANE MEN’S CLUB The second qualifying round was played last Saturday the best round being by N. Ducker 80—13—67 and J. Denham 86—18—68. They play their next rounds on 11th and 16th respectively. At the moment the leading qualifiers in each grade are: Senior, N. Hockin 82 —82—164; Intermediate, L. B. Smith 91—^92—183; Junior, Bushett 102—97—199. A team travelled to Tauranga on Sunday and though beaten by. 15 games to 8 had a most enjoyable day.
On Saturday next a men's foursome will be played. Please choose your own partners and opponents. This competition must not be confused with a Canadian foursome as only one ball per team is driven from each tee partners taking alternate tees.
