TALLY HO !
WHAKATANE HUNTSMEN FURTHER HUNT HELD The Hunt heid at Taneatua last Wednesday was a great success in every way. The weather which had been unfavourable for several days, gave way to beautiful sunshine and it was a pleasure indeed to those who were fortunate enough to attend on such a day. There was a good field of riders and the jumping was of a very high standard. Hares were again very plentiful and several good runs tested the skill of both horses and riders.
Hounds met at the Taneatua Hotel where Mrs Alexander entertained the riders at morning tea which was much appreciated especially by those who had come long distances. The Hunt then moved off and led over the properties of Messrs. J. Moody, G. W. Collins, Neil Reid, D. Ferguson, L. Grey, J. Hayward, J. Shearer, J. Lawn, P. Brophy and Mrs Hill. Afternoon tea was served at the homestead of Mr J. Lawn where the hospitality of Mr and Mrs Lawn was much appreciated by the large gathering.
