CHESS CLUB
PROGRESS AT EDGECUMBE At the last meeting of the Edgecumbe Chess Club and prior to play a meeting of members examined the rules drafted by the Management Committee and following minor amendments, the rules were adopted. Last week on conclusion of the elimination games a club ladder was drawn up, and challenge matches were played at the conclusion of the meeting. The following are the results, challengers names mentioned first:— Rogers lost to J. Harris; R. Thompson defeated A. Marx; E. List defeated A. Teasdale; L. Crystall lost to P. Melville; L. Martin defeated V. Marx; P. Crystall lost to K. Marx. There are indications club membership will be further consolidated in the near future.
