QUESTION OF METALLING COUNTY TO MAINTAIN Writing the Whakatane County Pouncil, the Public Works Department notified that the conditions as set out by the Council regarding the metalling of roads on the Galatea estate had been agreed to by the Lands Department. The Council was asked to produce a formal resolution indicating its preparedness to take over and maintain the roads referred to the work was formally approved by the County Engineer. The Council agreed to maintain in future to the satisfaction of the local representatives of the P.W.D. the Galatea Estate roads as enumerated in a previous letter to the resident District Engineer. A copy of this resolution under seal of the Council will be supplied to the P.W.D.
