2nd N.Z.E.F.

RETURNED SERVICEMEN ENTERTAIN Returned Kiwis of the 2nd N.Z.E.F. Association entertained at a dance held in the Caledonian Hall on Friday evening in aid of the proposed Whakatane Social Memorial Hall Fund. Although at first the attendance did not forecast that the function would be much of a financal success, the situation completely reversed itself later in the evening when a large number of patrons arrived after the pictures. Decorations included flags of the ■Allied Nations, whilst a placard on the stage depicted the 2nd N.Z.E.F. sign, the whole being totally in keeping with spirit and object of the evening. The Rhythm Vendors Orchestra supplied excellent music, whilst Mr O. Harland made an efficient and popular M.C. Supper proved to be a very tasty interlude. A Monte Carlo was won by Mr E. Wilson and partner.
