“CIGAM”

THE MASTER MAGICIAN That magic is fascinating and entertaining is demonstrated by its long history of over 6000 years. Men of all nations have found an interest in this special art and have in many cases given their lives to • its furtherance. Men of high character and outstanding intellectual attainments have concentrated mind and hand on advancing the art of music.

The interest is universal and conjuring always finds a ready audience. Many of the illustrations- are hundreds of years old and the principles employed are used again and again to dress the work in modern.guise. No branch of science is neglected and the basis of magic is a sound on§. . .

Mr A. Carr -again" who on Wednesday, June 19 is to give an evening of modern magic is no new: comer to the realm of ledgerdemain. For over 20 yeai’s he has conducted programmes both large and small for New Zealand audiences. Many excellent reports have come to hand of these performances. In Whakatane his evening will be largely of what is called small magic. Magic of China, India, and the Middle East will be included in the programme which should satisfy the most critical. These colourful evenings . attract because of the air of mystery which surrounds them. The famous Chinese linking rings, the Cube of Confucius, the famous umbrella trick, glass pcneration, invisible flight, will be included in the programme, together with illusions with balls, silks, cigarettes, blocks, glasses and cards. There will be mysteries, tricks, illusions and strange vanishes, the variety, of which should satisfy all.
