BOROUGH WATER SUPPLY

THE action of the Health Department with regard to the existing water supply to residents within the Borough, introduces a matter which has engaged the municipal mind for the past few years, and which admittedly will have to be solved by the Council in the near future. There is a natural reticence on the part of any local authority to impose a new loan approximating £20,000 to £30,000 upon its ratepayers, yet such a burden will, be unavoidable if any of the major schemes now under consideration are adopted. The greatest interest should be focussed upon the report which will be forthcoming following the investigation of the Works Committee.
