YOUNG CALEDONIANS

MURRAY CLAN ENTERTAINS At the last meeting of the Young Caledonian Club in the Caledonian Hall on Saturday evening, the entertaining fell to the Murray Clan, which sponsored a dance. A good attendance of members was present, and a typical Scottish atmosphere' was apparent throughout. Proceedings opened with the piping in by Piper Barry Thomas of the Murrays headed by their leader, George Goodall. They were received by George Paterson, Chief of the Club. Chief Simons was next piped in by diminutive Piper Russell Hirst, and those assembled stood whilst he was received. For the dance itself, Mr Horrie Waite supplied music, whilst George Goodall filled the role of Master of Ceremonies. The supper which was served, was very tasty, and supplied a refreshing interlude. During the course of the evening, Miss Dorothy Stewart supplied several vocal items, whilst Mr Waite also entertained with a novelty piano piece, and a monologue.

At the conclusion of the evening, it was the unanimous opinion, that the Murray Clan had proved themselves first-rate hosts.
