STOREKEEPER FINED

SEQUEL TO OVERCHARGE Before Mr E. L. Walton, S.M., in the Whakatane Court yesterday Alexander Campbell, storekeeper of Waiotahi, was fined £3 and costs 52/for selling a pair of half hose for 4/11, an overcharge under the Price Tribunal rates of 1/3. The prosecution was brought by the Department of Industries and Commerce for whom Mr Barry appeared. The Magistrate observed that he could only inflict the same fine he had imposed on the other defendants who had recently been before the court on similar offences.
