A Feature Week
The June picture calendar gives indication that next week will be a feature one for both the Regent and Grand Theatres. On the Regent screen, “Mrs Parkington” holds pride of place with a four night season commencing tomorrow night and extending till next Wednesday. Greer Garson and Walter Pidgeon, stars of “Mrs Minniver” and “Madame Curie” are matched in the leading roles and the picture, by virtue of an exceptionally strong cast and plot may be described as a dramatic triumph. At the Grand, on Tuesday and Wednesday, “Dangerous Moonlight” will be screened as the first of a series of request programmes to be shown at the Grand. The many who saw “Dangerous Moonlight” on either of its two previous visits to Whakatane will welcome its return, whilst those who were unfortunate enough to miss it will doubtless take full advantage of this third opportunity. The Warsaw Concerto Is featured in the film by the London Symphony Orchestra.
