LADIES’ GOLF
ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING The annual general meeting of the Whakatane Ladies’ Golf Club was held at the clubhouse on April 27, when their was a good attendance of members. Mrs Spence presided. The minutes of the last annual general meeting were read by the secretary and confirmed. Mrs Winstone, on Mrs Pearse’s behalf, read the treasurer’s report and balance sheet. The election of officers resulted as follows: President: Mrs Spence. Vice-president: Mrs Otley. Captain: Mrs Winstone. Vice-captain: Mrs Combes. Secretary: Miss V. Carter.
Committee: Mrs Berg, Mrs Stone, Mrs Sloane, Mrs Symmans, Mrs Fraser, Miss Black and Miss Robins. After a general discussion regarding club day it was decided to revert back to Wednesday as Ladies’ Club Day and that 9.30 be the official starting time. For those unable to play on Wednesdays provision will be made for Saturday play. Votes of thanks to the President, to the Captain, to the outgoing committee and to the “Beacon” were carried unanimously and the meeting then concluded.
