SNOOKER
WHAKATANE DEFEATS ROTORUA
The challenge from Rotorua directed at Whakatane for the Snooker Cup presented by Billiards Ltd. for fnter-room play, and which took place last Tuesday evening at Mr J. Han wright’s billiard saloon, the Strand, was unsuccessful, Whakatane retaining the Cup. Results of the games were as follows, Whakatane names being mentioned first in each case:—
Keesing 41 lost to Le Lievre 63; W. Hona 91 beat L. Jones 23; McGarvey 25 lost to E. Harker 66; H. Keepa 47 beat Paranihi 32; J. Thompson 52 beat D. Paul 32; T. Morgan 53 beat G. Comer 39. Whakatane having won the requisite number of games, the remaining match between S. Davis and M. Reid was not played.
