EDGECUMBE SCOUTS
ANNUAL MEETING HELD PROGRESS DURING YEAR Attendance at the annual meeting of the Edgecumbe Scout Committee was disappointing the President, Mr J. Nielsen, commenting on the evident lack of public interest in this worth while movement.
In his report, Mr Nielsen outlined the steady progress of the Edgecumbe troop, pointing out that but for a few small donations, the troop had been self-supporting. Equipment was in short supply but it was hoped this difficulty would be overcome. Parades were well attended and the boys were making steady improvement under the able tuition of S.M. Captain Rogers. Scout and Cub strength stood at 44.
The balance sheet showed a credit. Scout Commissioner N. Matthews in replying to a welcome extended to him praised the committee for its efforts on behalf of. the Scout movement.
The election of the new committee resulted as follows: President: Mr J. Nielsen. Vice-Presidents: Messrs. W. A. McCracken, D. S. Radcliffe, W. Hunter.
Hon. Secretary: Mr W. J. R Thompson.
Committee: Mesdames W. B. Gow and G. J. Planks; Messrs. J. Andersen, J. Conway, J. Vickery and W. B. Gow.
Scoutmaster: Capt. L. Rogers N.Z.C.A.
