Mr T. G. Nira Fraser, who has recently returned from overseas, has taken up duty with the Native Department, Whakatane.

At last Monday’s meeting of the Borough Council, His Worship the Mayor, Mr B. S. Barry, was re-ap-pointed Borough representative to the local Rehabilitation Committee.

From a total of 42 applicants, Mr L. D. Lovelock, formerly Town Clerk to the Pahiatua Borough Council, was selected by the Borough Council last Monday to replace Mr D. V. Saunders whose resignation after 14 years continuous service will take effect as from the end of May. Mr Lovelock, is a returned soldier from the last war, where he served for 4|- years rising to the rank of Major.
