GARDENING CIRCLE
COMPETITION RESULTS A very enjoyable afternoon was spent by the Gardening Circle at Mrs Butler’s residence recently, Mrs Hayward presiding over a good attendance of members.
A competition was won by Mrs Fogarty. The garden was very charming and gay in spite of the dry weather prevailing. Mrs Bennett gave a very interesting and instructive reading on the preparations of soil for anemones, ranunculus and watsonias
Mrs Merrie judged the competitions as follows: Best flower, Mrs Fitchett 1, Mrs Hayward 2. Best vegetable, Mrs Hayward and Mrs Doran tied for 1. Bowl for effect, Mrs Lawn 1, Mrs Bennett 2, Mrs Fitchett 3.
