Observant Aucklanders have noticed recently that a fair proportion of their loose change has consisted of Australian coins. A bank manager suggested that the main reason for the appearance of overseas money was. that service personnel returning from overseas were bringing back with them all sorts of money, mostly Australian. The money, he added was eventually taken out of circulation by the hanks.
