MR AND MRS H. WARDLAW

GATHERING AT WAIMANA

The Waimana Hall Avas Avell filled Avith friends of Mr and Mrs WardlaAV who attended a fareAvell dance

to them recently. The Waimana Orchestra supplied the dance music, Mr Robertson \A’as doorkeeper and Mr F. Sterling capably acted as M.C. After supper Mr J. L. Burnett on behalf of all present presented Mr and Mrs WardlaAV Avith a cheque and a silver fruit dish Avith best washes

for their future. The guests he said had resided in the district for over 30 years and they Avould be greatly missed from the community as both had taken a great interest in all social affairs and sport. Mr Wardknv on behalf of M|is WardlaAV and his family thanked the gathering for the kindly gifts and the pleasant evening given them. They certainly would, miss their friends- in Waimana and Nukuhou North he said, and all would be avclconie to a cup of tea at their home in Hamilton at any time. The Monte Carlo Waltzes Avere Avon by Mrs W. Donald and Mr S. Eagle and Mr and Mrs Max Wardlaw". Dancing continued until a late hour and the singing of Auld Lang Syne and the National Anthem closed the function.
