SECOND OPOTIKI CHALLENGE WHAKATANE DEFEATS MATATA The second challenge to come from Opotiki for the Billiards Ltd. Snooker Cup ? at present hekl by Whaka*\vill be played in Mr J. Hanw right’s billiard saloon i the Strand, on Tuesday evening. So far, Wfeakatane has succeeded in fighting off all comers, the local team having beatea Opotiki twi.ee, TRmfoki and Mat ate. once. The Whakatane team for Tuesday evening will be as follows': T. Morgan J. Thompson, 1. Tunui, S. Davis. M. G. McGarvey, T. Hona, W. Crapp and R. Keesing. The results from the last match between Matata and. Whakatane were as under:—

McGarvey 65 beat Hunt 45; Ivinley 47 beat Thompson 32; Tunui 75 beat Rerenana 13; Morrison 59 beat Hawthorne 46; Keesing 72 beat Waana 23. The remaining two matches between Mitai and Davis, and Parkinson and Morgan, were not played, Whakatane having won the necessary four games.
