WEDDING BELLS

HENDERSON —BROADMORE The marriage of Clarice ltobina Dulcic Broadmore, only daughter of Mr and Mrs F. Broadmore, of Thornton Whakatane, and Steven, fourth son’of the late Mr and Mrs il. Hein derson of Auckland, took place in the Methodist Churchy Whakatane, on Saturday ai>ernoon 26th January, 1916. The Bev. A. F. Attwood otl'ieiated and Miss Gwen Kenyon played the wedding music. The bride who was given away by her father looked charming in a frock of white embossed pam crepe, made with scalloped bodice to a low waist line and gathered skirt falling into a full length train, which was trimmed with tiny pleats and sprays of orange blossom. Her dainty tulle veil fell from a halo of orange, blossom and pearls anil she carried a shower bouquet of white llowers and asparagus fern. Attending as bridesmaids were Misses Doreen Jamieson of Cambridge, and Orrel Lyons of Inglewood Taranaki both cousins of the bride. They were frocked alike in lilac, georgette. The long waisteil bodices had inset panels of ruching and full gathered skirts were trimmed with scallops of ruching. They wore shoulder length veils. Their bouquets and coronets were of lilac toned flowers.

The bridegroom was attended by Mr li. Malaquin as. best man and Mr W. McDonald as groomsman. The church was tastefully decorated with white flowers and greenery and a large wedding bell. Messrs L. Broadmore and W. Abbott acted, as ushers.

Following the ceremony a reception was held at the Caledonian Hall where a hundred guests sat down to a sumptuous wedding breakfast. The beautifully iced cake which was greatly admired held pride of place on the bridal table. The guests were received by Mr 3 E. Broadmore who wore a black silk suit; with hat and accessories to match anil a shoulder .spray of apricot toned flowers. Mr and Mrs Henderson who received many beautiful gifts, later left on a motor tour, the bride travelling in a neat powder blue suit with hat and accessories to match.
