CONCLUSION OF INQUEST
- HEART FAILURE THE CAUSE The inquest into the death of Miss Mary Ellen Moore who died following a boating accident at Lake Ror toma on January (5 last, was concluded before, the District Coroner, Mr C. S. Armstrong, in the Whakatane Courthouse last Wednesday. The evidence of Mrs Clarice Helen Anderson, neice of the deceased, corroborated the earlier story related at the initial hearing. She stated that after having her attention aiy rested by the cries of. the other occupants of the boat she saw one of her children fall overboard, and the deceased standing up in the boat as if in difficulties. Witness had immediately assisted with the launching of the dinghy. Dr. Rogers had later brought the deceased ashore. Deceased could not swim and was nervous in the water.
The finding was that deceased died from heart failure following immersion in the water.
