IN the Whakatane Harbour a small group of scrubby neg-i lected looking islands spread their flattened surfaces, lc all appearances, they are nothing but an eye-sore at present but what green spots of natural beauty and colour they could be transformed into at very little expense. Covering a few acres in all, they could be easily transformed into ideal picnic grounds at the town’s back door by the planting of poplars, willows and other wind resisting trees. Possibly th eßeautifying Society will be interested..
