HIGH SCHOOL DANCE

END OF YEAR FUNCTION The visual end of year dance was held in the Caledonian Hall on Tuesday evening by pupils of the Wha<katane District High School. A number of old pupils and friends attended and the crowd tilled tile hall comfortably. Music for dancing was supplied by Horrie Waite's orchestra 5 while several High School boys acted jointly as M.C.s. A varied and popular programme consisting of old-time and modern dances, was run ofl' well to schedule the popularity of the numbers being apparent from the hearty applause accorded them. Supper which consisted of many delicious plates of home-cooked cakes was eaten with relish, and thoroughly enjoyed, by all present. The evening concluded at midnight.
