THOSE who read the report in our issue of Tuesday last, will have been struck by the unusual interpretation ot the law with regard to a defendant,, who as the police volunteered, had every justification for using violence upon his erring wife. Instead of a fine and a warnfng, the offendew an Islander, who was obviously strange and bewildered by ( the Court procedure was sentenced to one month s goal a moral victory for the individual, who if we are to believe police evidence richly deserved all she received and more. We feel that here: is a glaring case where a protest should be vigorously raised for the maligned under-dog.
