Mr and Mrs E. Nulut hou North arc at present visiting Gisborne.
J Advice lias been received that the [ award of the Military Medal has been 'made to Corporal W. M. Baker,, of Te Puke. Mr and Mrs J. M. Br3'ce, of Cambridge are guests at the Tourist and Fishing Lodge Lake Rotoma. Since their arrival at the Lodge they have been successful in catching some fine trout. The appointment lias been announced of the Rev. S. G. Caulton, as Dean of Auckland, and Vicar of St. Mary's Pro-Cathedral, Parnell. Mr Caulton will be Avell remembered by many residents of this town, by reason of the five and a half years which he spent as: vicar of the St. George's Anglican Church Wha, katanc. He was born in Derbyshire and graduated B.A. from the UnH versity of Durham, with secondclass honours in theology in 1022 and M.A. in 1927. In 1929 he joined the Melanesian Mission in, which service he remained until 1937, when he resigned and camc to New Zealand. He was ajipointed vicar of Whakatane and remained here until he succeeded Archdeacon T. H. C. Partridge, at Oneh'inga, in 1943.
