DEVELOPING OHOPE BEACH

WHEN the County Council members declared almost" with

one voice that the Borough grant to the Ohope Domain Board should be on all fours with the sum granted by the Council they forgot to add that in all fairness they would of course be prepared to divide the rate revenue received from that particular settlement. The upshot now is ihat Ohope recognised as one of the Dominion's gems has once again fallen between two stools. The only body pledged to its actual development and beautification is the Ohope Domain Board, which receives the munificent sum of £100 from the County and £10 from the Borough., It would be interesting to know the total revenue from the rates re-

ceived annually by the County Council from Ohope.
