Stewart of Whakatane, were wrongly classified as ex-prisoners of war in our last issue. These men have returned home from the United Kiugdom. Maintenance Case In the Wba'katahe~ Magistrate's Court last Tuesday an order for separation maintenance and guardianship of his child was made against George Manuel (Mr T. F. Keane) on the plaints of his wife, Polly Manual of Wainui at the rate of £2 per week. Costs amounting to £4 were also allowed against defendant. Donations Acknowledged! Gifts to the hospital as acknowledged at yesterday's meeting of the Board were as under: Flowers, cakes, fruit etc. Otakiri Women's Institute; magazines, Mrs C. Wilson and Mrs Thompson lemons, Mrs H. Goile-and Mrs C. Wilson; oranges., Mrs Hawken. The services of the Boys' Band were also recognised with appreciation. Traffic Offenders . In one of the shortest sessions of the Whakatane Magistrate's Court on record, last Tuesday two traffic offenders were prosecuted before Mr E. L. Walton, S.M. Te Kore Ngahua who pleaded guilty to driving an unlicensed truck along the main highway at Te Teko was fined 20s and costs 30s. The County Traffic Inspector brought proceedings against Lennard L. Creamer, who failed to appear on a charge of driving a truck without the necessary drivers license. A fine of 5s and costs 80s 6d was imposed/
