WOMEN'S INSTITUTE STARTED Thirty district ladies joined up with the newly-created Thornton Women's Institute last Thursday,' after the inaugural meeting had been addressed by Mrs H. Withy organiser for the Eastern Bay of Plenty Federation in the Thornton Hnll. The move to form an Institute in the district met with an immediate response and it was unanimously decided to proceed with its constitution. The election of officers resulted:— President Mrs A.
