RECENT SALES
KEEN DEMAND MAINTAINED The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile report as follows:— One of the most successful sales in the Galatea district \vas held in the stock yards at Galatea on June 28. Dairy cows which came forward in excellent condition were in keen demand and prices ranged from £11 to £10 10s. A particularly choice line of 100 heifers from high producing dams were offered, at the. same sale and like the met with keen competition selling up to £16 10s. Spring-Glen Pedigree Pig Sale A very successful pedigree pig sale was held on account of Messrs Sullivan and on June 22 this being the first sale of pedigree pigs to be offered on account of this stud. A very representative bench of buyers were present from outside districts and competition was been throughout. This stud was founded on. some of the best blood lines in New Zealand and prices ranged up to 12 guineas for boars and 15 guineas for sows. ' At this sale was also offered on account of E. R. some of his well known Matarae-Sunshine breed j sows realising up to 15% guineas and boars to 13% guineas.
