CEMENT SUPPLIES
FARMERS REPRESENTATIONS REPLY FROM MINISTER In answer to a telegram from the East Coast Dairy Association urging that cement supplies be made available to farmers for seasonable repair work on production of a certificate from a Dairy Inspector, the Minister has replied that the Building Controller will arrange for an equitable distribution with particular emphasis on farming needs. In the course of his reply the Minister stated that the existing shortage was. due mainly to the absence ! of coal, which had staggered pro- >• duction. He had however arranged ior the Building Controller in both ' Auckland and Hamilton to confer > w ith cement manufacturers and tlisr tributors with a view to releasing ■ an equitable amount for the purpose above-men tioned.
