MAORI FARMER'S COMMENT Shrewd comment on the loquacity and diversity of the general discussions was. made at the 45th annual conference of the N.Z. Farmers' Union (Auckland Province) by a Maori delegate Mr A. Te Whetu of Ruatoki North (Bay of Plenty) when invited by the president to address the conference. "I came here ? " said Mr Te Whetu, "with the object of learning things to take home to my people. Until L came, here 1 did not know that there were so .many differences among you pakeha people. All I can say is you should show us Maoris a better example. You could take a lesson from the Bay of Plenty people..." Mr Te Whetu's remarks were warmly applauded.
