Information that every now anil then sewing machines are procurable is given in Consumer News •which reports that from the overseas pool New Zealand is granted a maximum number of 801) mcahines annually. However this number is not always available. It also reports that paper patterns for dressmaking are now being made in New Zealand from paper also produced in this country. A •shortage overseas of the fine paper from which patterns are made has meant an unavoidable reduction in imports.
