In the recent furlough men from the Middle East, Lieut. H. L. Heat.ley r , formerly of the BEACON literary staff is numbered. Lieut. Heatlcy disembarked at Wellington and is now 7 temporarily residing at Napier where, his wil'e is living. He will be remembered as the second literary man with the forces to fill the position of editor to the N.Z.E.F. Times the celebrated newspaper which won so much praise from the military authorities. 'Len' as he was popularly known guided the destinies of the publication for over 18 months and was then transferred to the Public Relations Service. He is expected back in this town early next month.
