Taneatua Rest room & Convenience In answer to a signed petition from a number of business people from Taneatua, urging that the proposed Restroom and convenience be erected in yet another position to that fixed on by the Council has been referred back by the Whakatane County Council to the two riding members concerned Messrs McCreadv and MeGougan, to rediscuss with the residents and to report back. Radio Appeal The total subscribed in the radio appeal for patriotic funds on Wednesday night is reported as £66,169, with .some late contributions still possible. District totals were: Northland £44.87; Auckland £2321; Waikato £4472; Bay of Plenty £905; Taranaki £4702; East Coast £260; Hawke's Bay £6961; Wellington £4028; Marlborough £.'*7o; Nelson £1949;. Wcstland £685; Canterbury £14.074; Otago £13 777; Southland £1178. Ration Coupons Ration coupons available this week are: Meat (ration- 1/9 weekly), H coupons worth 6d, others .'id; child's ration lid weekly J coupon 5d. — Nos. 26 and 27. Butter (ration Boz weekly each coupon 8oz). —Nos. 27 and 28 available until May 12. Sugar (ration 'iValb monthly, each coupon lOoz) —Nos. 25 to 28 inclusive, available until May 12.
