OPPORTUNITY TO BEAUTIFY
WITH public attention now focusse.d upon the; burnt slopes of Hillcrest following the recent scrub fire, it would seem that an admirable opportunity presents itself to the newlyformed Beautifying Society to try out its progressive policy. The Hillcrest cliff-face was one of the most criticised eyesores when the prospects of the Society were first discussed, whilst it also figured prominently in the High School essays on the same subject. Now that it is bereft of the bracken and scrub which in the main prevented planting in the past, it would be turning the fire to good account to commence this very winter with the first instalment of a beautifying scheme which could be carried out over the next few years.
