POPPY DAY APPEAL
FRIDAY, April 20th will mark the annual appeal of the Returned Services' Association known as 'Poppy Day,' It is the only occasion on which this organisation approaches the public in any way for support, and in view of the objective—the assistance and recognition of sick and necessitous ex-soldiers, it has always met with the fullest public sympathy and endorsement. This year it will be probably be the last 'Poppy Day' to t be held during the war in Europe. Next year poppies will possibly be growing on other battlefields than those in Flanders. In view of the demands on the organisation funds, which must increase as more and still more men from overseas are demobilised, the public is asked to be more liberal than normally on Friday next.
