Luminescent Pigments The war effort has stimulated the development of an extensive range now used in paints, coatings and plastics. These luminescent materials foreshadow a number of interesting peacetime applications, one logical development being their application to the interior of motor car bodies in which electric switches fixtures, dials, door handles and 'accessories can be outlined by iluorescent pigments or dyes which are excited by "black" light exposure, or phosphoresent pigments excited by daylight exposure.
