PROPOSED THROUGH SCHOOLS
PARCELS FOR THE TROOPS In conjunction with other pi'ovinces in New Zealand, a scheme, is about to> be launched for collecting tyres through schools. Brieflythe scheme is that each school will be entitled to have a 10/- patriotic parcel s-ent to a nominated overseas soldier for every 12 car tyres, eight truck tyres or 20 large tubes collected. The National Council of. Reclamation will pay over a cheque, to the National Patriotic Fund Board to cover the cost of the parcels., whi<-h will include a jarinted slip indicating that the parcel is given by the pupils of the school, who earned the proceeds for its purchase by collecting tyres.
