EAST COAST HIGHWAY
IT would appear from the report made to t the Borough Council last evening that the fixing of the course of the main highway for the East Coast, through the Waimana Gorge, as reported iji the Opotiki News, and discussed later in these columns, is open to serious question. The matter was certainly introduced at the last meeting of the High-' ways Council, but had never been discussed at any special meeting of the Main Highways conferring with the •County Authorities or P.W.D. Theldecision regarding the course of the road is still therefore to be fixed officially, and we trust that there will be every prospect afforded representatives frti>m this town to be given a voice in arriving at it so vital a matter such a measure would be only fair and (Constitutional.
