GALATEA
MORE and more visitors from the cities are appreciating the rugged grandeur and attractiveness of Galatea. Annually the great inland plain with its mountain setting and its deep running valleys, is becoming better known as a resort and as something representing a true portraiture of old New Zealand, unspoilt by commercialism or the hand of the forest despoiler. Here again, almost at its back door, Whakatane possesses yet another potential asset, which must develop into a great and prosperous, dairying and stock producing district. Galatea should be recognised, assisted and developed.
